Answers to common locksmith questions

Why should I choose Locksmith Express?

Because you’ll be treated fairly by a local company with 15+ years of locksmith experience and a record of trusted Birmingham area service. Plus, you’ll work with a reputable locksmith who is fully licensed, certified, and insured. Our goal is to provide you with fast, reliable locksmith service at a reasonable price when you need it.

What can a mobile locksmith offer that a brick and mortar business can’t?

A mobile locksmith provides on-site work, lower overhead, 24/7 service, no towing needed to get your car to the shop or dealer – and all of that translates into a lower price! We travel daily throughout Birmingham and the surrounding areas, so we are always on the move. We can travel to meet you wherever and whenever you are.

How long does it take to make a key?

It takes approximately 30 minutes to make a key.

What type of payments do you accept?

We accept Cash, MC/Visa credit cards and MC/Visa debit cards.

Do you give over-the-phone quotes?

Yes. We give guaranteed over the phone quotes! We’ll give you an actual price quote over the phone before our arrival … not an estimate. That’s the price you’ll pay.

What if I’ve locked my keys in my car or trunk?

We can get them out for you without damage to your vehicle or lock.

What if I’ve lost my key or my remote?

We can replace both your keys and your remotes.

What if I’m locked out of my house?

We can get you into your home without damage to your lock or door.

Will my lock or vehicle be damaged?

No. An experienced locksmith can open any lock, and techniques such as drilling through a lock are used only as a last resort. Don’t use any locksmith who suggests drilling right away.

What if I’ve broken the key off in the lock?

We can extract keys from locks and ignitions, and can make a new key.

Are you insured?

Yes. We are insured through the Alabama Electronic Security Board of Licensure (AESBL license #1621).

What are your qualifications?

We have been in business for over 20 years and have a total of 50+ years experience. We are licensed through the Alabama Locksmith Association, which is a requirement for the state of Alabama (AESBL license #1621). We are certified as a registered locksmith (CRL) and as a Certified Automotive Locksmith (CAL). These are national certifications that must be renewed annually.

What vehicle makes/models can you make keys for?
